Licensing How To (DCE/Self Hosted)

Licensing How To (DCE/Self Hosted)

With the DCE/Self Hosted edition, licensing is controlled via your accounts.bacula4.com portal

1) log into https://accounts.bacula4.com and manage your DCE/Self Hosted Service

2) upgrade/downgrade at section below, and set license numbers to what you require.
For upgrading licenses, you will need to pay the new, pro-rated invoice
For downgrading licenses, a pro-rated credit will be applied to your account

3) Log into your DCE/Self Hosted admin > navigate to config > license > update license key

4) Assign licenses to end user accounts as you deem necessary (users > edit user)

PLEASE NOTE - you can assign as many licenses to each end user account as you desire (ie you can oversell your licenses).  however, no end user can add servers/vm's which will exceed the upstream license limit.  If you have 1 big end user account for your own internal usage, it is safe to set the license limit to a high number, but, once you exceed your master key license limit, the end user account will not longer be able to add additional licenses until you upgrade your master license key as per above
